LivingWithBandT.com is a new, web based video project by collaborative performance and video
artists
The LivingWithBandT.com video project utilizes the computer screen saver as a viable format to experience and enjoy performance and video art. Beyond the first in this series, these video works will be produced specific to the
project and format. The work of B&T often conceptualizes team
identity and
a determined thin line between labor and leisure. The concept is
to bring
such performance works directly to screens in both public and private
spaces where both labor and leisure activity takes place. Rather than
screenings or installation, these performances for video are intended
for
fragmented viewing, caught during those in-between moments when your
computer is not in use.. This project consists of an ongoing series of limited release, downloadable screen savers. Once puchased and downloaded, screen saver will play at full screen and full resolution
The series
begins with a re-edited and re-formatted version of a 2005 large
scale, dual projection, video installation work titled Becoming
B&T. A lengthy investigation of liveness in performance and video
has culminated in this play of choreographed bodies and their fragmented
parts. This
original work, including two small video trailers, have been published
in the ULCA Extensions Online Journal of Embodied Technology / Vol 2:
Mediated Bodies – Locating Corporeality in a Pixilated World.This downloadable file is a self-installable screen saver designed for both Mac And Pc. It requires the latest version of quicktime - Which is free and available at www.apple.com/quicktime
